These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and the developer of Us ("we", "our", "us") governing your access to and use of the Us mobile application ("the App").
By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the App in any way, you agree to these Terms in full. If you are using the App on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have the authority to bind them to these Terms.
Us is a couples app that allows two connected partners to share memories, photos, journal entries, relationship milestones, reminders, and messages in a private shared space.
The App is designed exclusively for use between two consenting individuals in a personal relationship. It is not a social network and is not intended for use by groups or third parties.
The App is available to users of all ages. However, it is not specifically designed or marketed for children under the age of 13. Users under 13 must have verifiable parental or guardian consent before using the App.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 are encouraged to review these Terms with a parent or guardian before creating an account.
By using the App, you confirm that your use complies with any laws applicable in your jurisdiction regarding minimum age requirements for digital services.
To use the App, you must create an account by providing a valid name and email address, or by using an approved third-party sign-in method (Google or Apple).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or are used in violation of these Terms.
The App supports the following methods of account creation and sign-in:
You may register using your email address and a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. We recommend using a strong, unique password.
You may sign in using your Google account. By doing so, you authorise us to receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google solely for the purposes of account creation and identification. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.
You may sign in using your Apple ID. By doing so, you authorise us to receive your name and email address (or Apple relay address if you choose to hide your email) solely for account creation and identification. Your use of Sign in with Apple is also subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions.
Hide My Email: If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we will receive a private relay address instead of your real email. App communications will be routed through Apple's relay. You can manage this at any time in your Apple ID settings.
You may only maintain one account per person. Creating duplicate accounts is not permitted.
You agree to use the App only for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. You must not use the App to:
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, without prior notice.
The App allows you and your partner to upload and share content including photos, text entries, and media ("User Content").
You retain full ownership of all User Content you create and upload. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.
By uploading content to the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the App and delivering its features to you and your partner. We will never use your content for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond App functionality.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You confirm that you have the right to share any content you post, and that it does not violate the rights of any third party or any applicable law.
Important: Content shared within the App is accessible to your connected partner. Please exercise care and mutual respect when sharing personal content.
The App is designed for use by two connected partners. To access shared features, you will need to connect your account with another user ("your partner").
We strongly recommend that both partners review these Terms and the Privacy Policy before connecting their accounts.
Us is currently provided free of charge. You are not required to pay any fees to create an account or access the App's features.
We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features or a premium tier in the future. If we do, we will notify existing users in advance and any free features that currently exist will remain accessible unless otherwise communicated.
We do not display third-party advertisements within the App and do not monetise your data in any way.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the App — including its design, code, branding, name, logo, and all content created by us — are owned exclusively by us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content without our express written permission.
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
We recommend that you maintain your own backups of any important content stored in the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App.
This includes but is not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Since the App is free, this amount is zero.
You may delete your account at any time directly within the App. Upon deletion:
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive or harmful behaviour, or if we are required to do so by law.
Please note: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. We recommend downloading or saving any content you wish to keep before deleting your account.
We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice. This includes adding, changing, or removing features.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via the App or email. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modifications, suspensions, or discontinuations of the App.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
For significant changes, we will notify you via the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, unless otherwise required by the laws of your country of residence.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
